Private Hibachi Chef in WaterSound

Gated, quiet, and spread out — send the gate code and the rest is the easiest cook on 30A.

This page is not finished — and it is not in the index

We would rather publish nothing about WaterSound than publish the same paragraph we used for another town with the name swapped. Until the chef supplies the local detail, this page is noindex and excluded from the sitemap. We still cook in WaterSound — the booking form works exactly the same.

Hibachi catering in WaterSound

WaterSound covers several distinct pockets — WaterSound Beach behind the gate on the south side of 30A, the Camp Creek and Origins side to the north, and the newer WaterSound Origins neighbourhoods further inland — and they cook quite differently. The beach side is dune-scrub and boardwalks, with houses on stilts and elevated decks reached by an exterior stair; the Origins side is conventional streets and driveways. Both are comfortable to work in once we are through the gate, and the gate is the whole story here. WaterSound is the most access-controlled place we cook on 30A, and a dinner that starts late almost always starts late at a call box. Send the code, or add us to the guest list under the booking name, and the evening runs on time. Groups here skew toward quieter, longer dinners than Seacrest or Rosemary.

Where we set up in WaterSound

Six by four feet of level, open-sky surface with three feet of clearance. On the WaterSound Beach side that is usually the elevated rear deck — those decks are wide and level, and they are our preferred surface — or the ground-level parking pad beneath the house. Under-house parking areas are covered, so we cannot cook there. On the Origins side it is the driveway or rear deck. Heat mats under all decking as standard. Where the only route to the deck is an exterior stair, tell us in the notes: we will bring the extra hands rather than improvise.

Getting to you

Access is through a manned or coded gate off 30A or Highway 98 depending on the pocket, and this is the one field we genuinely need from you: the gate code, or your name on the visitor list. We arrive 45 minutes before the seating. WaterSound streets are quiet with good driveway space, so parking is rarely the constraint — the gate is. Houses on the beach side reached by boardwalk need a note so we bring the cart.

Bachelorette and birthday parties in WaterSound

WaterSound bookings are quieter and often longer than our 30A average: milestone birthdays, anniversary dinners, rehearsal dinners for beach weddings a few blocks away, and the bachelorette group that rented behind a gate on purpose. The gated privacy changes the evening in a way people underestimate — nobody is walking past, so the group settles in and the dinner stretches. We lean into that with a slower course pace and more of the premium proteins. It is also our most common rehearsal-dinner town on the eastern half of 30A, because a WaterSound deck at sunset needs no styling and the whole party is already staying inside the same gate.

WaterSound questions

How do you get through the WaterSound gate?

You send us the code with your booking confirmation, or add the booking name to the visitor list. This is the single most common cause of a late start in WaterSound, so we ask for it twice.

Can you cook under a WaterSound Beach stilt house?

No — the under-house parking area is covered and we need open sky. We use the elevated rear deck instead, which is usually the best surface on the property anyway.

Do you cook at WaterSound Origins as well as WaterSound Beach?

Yes, both, plus the Camp Creek side. Origins houses are conventional driveways and decks, which are simple setups.

  • They held the fried rice for the toasts without being asked twice. Thirty people, two chefs, and the deck was spotless before we went to bed.
