Carillon Beach is a gated village on the Bay County side of the county line, tucked between the gulf and Lake Powell with Camp Helen State Park next door. It is planned in the same spirit as the 30A villages a few minutes east, with cottages and courtyards on narrow lanes, a market at the middle and beach access through the dunes. What it is not is a strip of towers, which is what makes it easy to cook in. Most properties here have a courtyard, a rear porch or a parking pad, and the village keeps common areas that groups often use for a larger table. It is also the last quiet address before Panama City Beach begins, so the groups who book here have usually chosen it deliberately over somewhere louder.

Where we set up in Carillon Beach

We cook outside on our own flat-top and need roughly 6 ft x 4 ft of level ground with open sky above it and about 3 feet of clear standing room on the chef's side. In a village like this that is usually the courtyard, a brick or shell parking pad, or a rear porch with the sides open. Second-floor porches are usually a no, both for the roof height and because carrying a hot grill down an exterior stair late at night is not something we will do. Where a courtyard is enclosed on four sides with a low pergola over it, we move to the drive. Heat mats go under any wood decking as standard.

Getting to you

Carillon Beach is entered through a gate off Front Beach Road, so the practical work is arranging access rather than finding the address. Send the gate code or the guest pass arrangement with your booking confirmation and give the guardhouse the chef's name if the village asks for it in advance. The lanes inside are narrow, so we ask you to hold a driveway or pad space clear rather than leave us to find a spot with the cart. Carillon Beach sits outside the 30A zone where travel is free, so it is priced against your exact address on the booking form and shown before you commit.

Bachelorette and birthday parties in Carillon Beach

Bachelorette groups and birthdays are what this village takes, and for the same reason: it is a short drive from the eastern end of 30A without the eastern end of 30A's prices, so groups rent something bigger than they otherwise would. A bigger house means a courtyard and a long table, and a long table is the whole argument for cooking at the property rather than trying to seat 12 or 16 people somewhere on Front Beach Road at seven. Nobody drives, nobody waits, and the show happens where everyone already is. Above 18 guests in a single seating we bring a second chef and a second station at no extra charge, so a larger group still eats at the same time rather than in shifts.
