The food

The hibachi catering menu

Every guest gets the full sequence — soup, salad, vegetables, proteins and fried rice — not a main course with sides attached. Adults choose two proteins as standard or three on the upgraded plate; children choose one or two.

Everything is cooked in front of you on the flat-top, which means there is no pass and no ticket between you and the chef. Tell them how you want your steak while they are cooking it.

What every plate includes

Every guest gets the full sequence, not a main course with sides bolted on. This is the part people forget to ask about and then talk about afterwards — the fried rice in particular is cooked on the flat-top in front of you at the end of service, which is why it does not taste like fried rice you have had before.

  • Miso soup

Served first, while the grill comes up to temperature.

    • vegetarian
  • Ginger side salad

    With the house ginger dressing.

    • vegetarian

  • Hibachi vegetables

Zucchini, onion, carrot and broccoli, cooked on the flat-top.

  • Hibachi fried rice

Cooked last, in front of you, with egg and scallion.

    • vegetarian
  • Yum yum sauce and ginger sauce

Both, always. Nobody agrees on which one is correct.

Choose your proteins

Adults choose two proteins as standard, or three on the upgraded package. Children choose one or two. Everything is cooked to order on the flat-top — tell us how you want your steak and it will arrive that way, because there is no pass and no ticket system between you and the chef.

  • Chicken

Thigh, marinated. The one children ask for.

Add-ons for the table

Shared plates that come out early, while the first proteins are still going. Groups over about twelve tend to add at least one, mostly because it gives people something to do during the stretch where everyone is still arriving from the pool.

  • Gyoza dumplings+$8

Pan-fried, per plate for the table.

  • Yakisoba noodles+$8

Cooked on the flat-top alongside the rice.

    • vegetarian
  • Edamame+$6

Sea salt, served with the soup.

Children’s plates

For ten and under. Same sequence, smaller portions, and no spice at all unless a parent asks for it. Children get the same show — in fact they get more of it, because the volcano is timed for them and the shrimp toss goes to anyone who puts a hand up.

  • Chicken or steak

One protein, with rice and vegetables.

    • kids
    • gf
  • Two proteins

Any two from the standard list.

    • kids
  • Plain rice option

For the child who does not want anything touching anything.

    • kids
    • vegetarian

Allergies and dietary requirements

Tell us on the booking form and we plan the grill around it rather than working around it on the night. Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and allergy plates are cooked on a cleaned section of the flat-top before the shared cooking starts — not scraped aside from a batch. Shellfish allergies in particular need advance notice, because shrimp is on almost every grill we run.

  • Gluten-free

Tamari in place of soy. Note that standard yakisoba is not gluten-free.

    • gf
  • Vegetarian

Tofu and vegetables, egg-free fried rice on request.

    • vegetarian
  • Vegan

Tofu, vegetables and egg-free rice, cooked first on a cleaned surface.

    • vegan
  • Shellfish allergy

Needs advance notice — we change the grill order so shrimp is cooked last.

What is not on the menu

Drinks, dessert and the table

We do not bring alcohol, soft drinks or dessert, and we do not bring furniture. The table, the chairs and the drinks are yours — almost every rental house already has enough outdoor seating for the group it sleeps.

Bring your own cake. We clear and clean the station at the end of service, which conveniently gives you a table for it.

Everyone chooses their own. We collect it up front so the shopping is right and the allergy plates are planned rather than improvised.
